Our only goal here at ORCA HealthCare is to make your bathroom as safe and accessible as possible. If you’re struggling with getting in and out of the tub, our Vancouver handicap showers installation service might just be the perfect solution.
Whether you’re living with a disability or you’re not as steady on your feet as you used to be, an accessible shower stall removes the risk and hard work of climbing in and out of a traditional tub.
Upgrading your bathroom to meet your needs can enhance your life and independence. Additionally, our licensed plumbers will complete the tub-to-shower drain conversion and install the new shower valve, followed by the installation of the shower pan and walls.
Throughout the Greater Vancouver and BC Lower Mainland, we prioritize the well-being of our disabled and aging-in-place clients by installing showers.
Why choose ORCA?
As one of the most recognizable and trusted providers of safe bathing solutions in BC, we’re extremely proud of our reputation. As well as providing friendly, personalized and knowledgeable service, we have what we believe are the best accessible showers out there. We are so confident about our commercial products that they come with a 30-year guarantee.
What sets ORCA showers apart?
Crafted with sturdy plywood backing and durable gelcoat fiberglass, our showers are not only easy to clean, but they also boast an appealing appearance.
While many of our competitors install tile that looks attractive initially, grout is difficult and time-consuming to clean and can eventually crack and need replacing. Other accessible shower stalls use thin acrylic walls that simply can’t stand up to long-term use. ORCA showers offer excellent quality, durability and value for money.
We recognize each and every one of our clients has unique needs, which is why we offer a huge range of showers and finishes. While our most popular shower has a reduced threshold of just 1.75″ (5LBS6030B17T), we also offer a standard 4″ threshold option (5LBS6030). Another popular model is our roll in shower (5LBS6030E75B), which offers a threshold of just 0.75″. This is ideal for anyone who uses care aids or a shower commode.
And we don’t just provide showers-our safe bathing accessories cover all your individual needs. Our stainless steel grab bars are extremely popular, while our fold-up shower bench is designed for anyone who is unable to stand for long periods or who prefers to sit while they shower. Our hand held shower offers flexibility, and our water dam products and weighted shower curtains prevent water splashing out onto the bathroom floor.
Now let’s take a look at how the tub-to-shower conversion process works:
Initial no-cost assessment
The first step is for us to assess your existing bathroom set-up. We’ll measure up the bathtub pocket and discuss the various options with you. We also welcome your input and feedback at every stage of the process and will work with you to create your ideal shower.
The installation process
Day 1: We’ll start by taking out the existing bathtub and wall surround-while removing all debris-and preparing the bathing pocket for the new shower.
Day 2: Firstly, our licensed plumbers will complete the tub-to-shower drain conversion and install the new shower valve. Subsequently, the shower pan and walls are installed.
Day 3/4: This is when it all starts coming together! With your guidance and input, we will install the bathing accessories. Importantly, we’ll ensure grab bars and any other aids are in the perfect position for you. We’ll also add the finishing touches, leaving you with a beautiful, accessible new shower.
During our personalized service, we actively engage with you, ensuring transparency and keeping you informed of our progress. Equally important, we work efficiently and considerately, leaving the job site tidy at the end of each day.
