Get an Accessible Shower with the BC Rebate for Accessible Home Adaptations (BC RAHA)

Accessible Shower with the BC Rebate

Did you know there is a rebate for seniors that could help you get a brand new accessible shower? The BC Housing Rebate for Accessible Home Adaptations (BC RAHA), also known as RAHA, is designed to help seniors and people with limited mobility live in safety and comfort in their own homes. And you don’t need to be a homeowner—RAHA is also available to renters.

If you’re eligible and live in the Greater Vancouver or BC Lower Mainland region, ORCA HealthCare can guide you through the application process and help you continue to enjoy independent living in your home for years to come.

Who qualifies for RAHA?

To qualify, you or a member of your household must have a disability or permanently diminished ability. You must live in BC and your home’s BC Assessment Value must be below the Home Value Limit for your area. In addition, you must have a household annual gross income of under $120,990.00 and assets of under $100,000.00. Assets include cash, stocks, bonds and property other than your home, but exclude RRSPs, RRIFs and vehicles.

What does RAHA cover?

If eligible, you could receive between $8700 and $9,500 to spend on accessible bathroom renovations. This covers the majority of the cost of a fully-accessible ORCA shower, customized to your own needs and preferences. Choose the shower size that perfectly fits in with your existing bathtub dimensions and select safe-bathing accessories that will allow you to shower safely and in comfort.
